May 12, 2008 - Announcing the 2008 Behind the Scenes Holiday Cards
NEW YORK, NY – The ESTA Foundation announces the 2008 Behind the Scenes Holiday Cards created by some of the industry’s most talented designers. Six designs are being offered this year, including custom cards from Bob Bonniol, Scott Pask, David Rockwell, and Bruce Rodgers. Behind the Scenes is also pleased to introduce the work of talented young photographer Andrew Hefter.

May 9, 2008 - The ESTA Foundation and USITT Announce Lighting and Console Training at NCSA
New York, NY — The Joint Training Initiative of The ESTA Foundation and USITT announces Lighting and Console Training Sessions to be held at North Carolina School of the Arts, a four-day schedule of courses for lighting programmers, technicians, and electricians, at both basic and advanced levels. This dual track of sessions will be held July 7th through July 10th on the campus of NCSA. The courses will be taught by ETCP Certified Electricians Richard Cadena and Eric Rimes.

May 5, 2008 - Behind the Scenes Tony Awards Party Set for June 15th
New York, NY – The third annual Behind the Scenes Tony Awards Party is set for Sunday, June 15th in New York City. The event brings together the shops that work on Broadway and the companies that supply them for a terrific evening of schmoozing, food and drink, and cheering for their Tony-nominated shows. Join us, and while celebrating our industry’s accomplishments you can make sure your colleagues are cared for in times of need.

March 25, 2008 - USITT Attendees and Long Reach Long Riders Step Up for Behind the Scenes
The Long Reach Long Riders and The ESTA Foundation are proud to announce the results of their joint raffle to benefit the Behind the Scenes program at the USITT conference in Houston, TX.  A total of $8,364 was raised during the three-day conference. When added to the Challenge Grants provided by Bigger Hammer Productions, Sapsis Rigging, and Strong Entertainment Lighting, the total reached $18,364.

February 25, 2008 - Rosco Donates Proceeds from Sales of Roscolux #359 to Behind the Scenes
The ESTA Foundation is pleased to announce that Rosco will donate the proceeds from the sales of Roscolux #359 Medium Violet to Behind the Scenes. While the color name remains the same, the Behind the Scenes logo will be added to the Roscolux swatch book slip sheet and marketing materials, making it easy to identify. Rosco will present a check to Behind the Scenes each year at the LDI Show.

February 15, 2008 - Long Reach Long Riders Announce Annual USITT Raffle to Benefit Behind the Scenes
The Long Reach Long Riders and The ESTA Foundation proudly announce their annual raffle to benefit Behind the Scenes at the USITT conference. This hugely popular event will be held on March 22, 2008 at the Behind the Scenes booth (#910) on the trade show floor of the USITT Conference in Houston, TX. Tickets, which are $5 each or 5 for $20, may be purchased at the booth throughout the show. Every dollar raised will be tripled thanks to challenge grants sponsored by Bigger Hammer Production Services, Sapsis Rigging and Strong Entertainment Lighting.

January 29, 2008 - Behind the Scenes Challenge Grants at USITT
The ESTA Foundation’s Behind the Scenes Program is pleased to announce that three companies have already stepped forward as challenge grantors for the Behind the Scenes / Long Reach Long Riders raffle at USITT in Houston: Bigger Hammer Production Services, Sapsis Rigging and Strong Entertainment Lighting. The grants provide the opportunity for donors to double their contributions, while providing help to colleagues in a time of need.

January 28, 2008 - ETC behind the scenes of Successful Challenge Grant
Middleton, WI (28 January 2008) – In October, ETC CEO Fred Foster issued a challenge to companies and individuals working in the entertainment industry: Donate to The ESTA Foundation’s Behind the Scenes fund, a program that provides financial assistance to entertainment technology professionals who are seriously ill or injured. ETC offered to match all donations to Behind the Scenes up to $50,000.

January 3, 2008 - Registration Deadline for Mid-Atlantic Technical Training Week Extended to January 11th
New York, NY — The registration deadline for The ESTA Foundation's Mid-Atlantic Technical Training Week has been extended to Friday, January 11, 2008. The training will be held January 21-26, 2008 at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland, 12 miles from Washington, D.C. The training is co-sponsored by Theater & Entertainment Technology at Prince George’s Community College and The ESTA Foundation’s Seminars & Training Committee.

December 6, 2007 - Behind the Scenes Holiday Appeal to Meet the ETC $50,000 Challenge
This past October, The ESTA Foundation was pleased to announce that Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC) issued a $50,000 Challenge Grant to benefit Behind the Scenes. During the three days at LDI in November many of our colleagues answered the challenge by buying raffle tickets and holiday cards or playing poker, which helped us raise close to $40,000 – just $10,000 shy of ETC’s generous challenge.

October 18, 2007 - Electronic Theatre Controls Offers $50,000 Challenge Grant for Behind the Scenes

The ESTA Foundation is honored to announce a major challenge has been issued by Electronic Theatre Controls to the entertainment technology industry to step up to the plate at LDI for Behind the Scenes.

July 23, 2007 - Behind the Scenes to Raffle the Broadway Chopper at LDI
NEW YORK, NY — Thanks to the generosity of Neil Mazzella and Hudson Scenic Studio, The ESTA Foundation will raffle the one of a kind “Broadway Chopper” to raise funds for Behind the Scenes at LDI 2007. This award-winning show bike will capture the attention of everyone that sees it cruise by.

June 26, 2007 - The Long Reach Long Riders Reach the 75% Mark

With little more than a month to go, the Long Reach Long Riders have raised
over $50,000.00.  The goal for this, their 4th annual ride, is to raise
$75,000.00 by the time the ride begins on July 29th.

May 21, 2007 - Live Design Honors and Short Reach Short Riders Benefit Behind the Scenes
New York, NY – The Live Design Honors, recognizing The Design Aesthetic of Hal Prince, took place on Tuesday, May 15th at the Kimmel Center at New York University in a gala evening that benefited Behind the Scenes. This event marked the 2nd annual Live Design Honors, in which the magazine pays tribute to a group of outstanding individuals and the collaborative spirit of the designers who work together to create memorable and innovative productions.
