March 25, 2008 - USITT Attendees and Long Reach Long Riders Step Up for Behind the Scenes
The Long Reach Long Riders and The ESTA Foundation are proud to announce the results of their joint raffle to benefit the Behind the Scenes program at the USITT conference in Houston, TX.  A total of $8,364 was raised during the three-day conference. When added to the Challenge Grants provided by Bigger Hammer Productions, Sapsis Rigging, and Strong Entertainment Lighting, the total reached $18,364.

February 25, 2008 - Rosco Donates Proceeds from Sales of Roscolux #359 to Behind the Scenes
The ESTA Foundation is pleased to announce that Rosco will donate the proceeds from the sales of Roscolux #359 Medium Violet to Behind the Scenes. While the color name remains the same, the Behind the Scenes logo will be added to the Roscolux swatch book slip sheet and marketing materials, making it easy to identify. Rosco will present a check to Behind the Scenes each year at the LDI Show.

February 15, 2008 - Long Reach Long Riders Announce Annual USITT Raffle to Benefit Behind the Scenes
The Long Reach Long Riders and The ESTA Foundation proudly announce their annual raffle to benefit Behind the Scenes at the USITT conference. This hugely popular event will be held on March 22, 2008 at the Behind the Scenes booth (#910) on the trade show floor of the USITT Conference in Houston, TX. Tickets, which are $5 each or 5 for $20, may be purchased at the booth throughout the show. Every dollar raised will be tripled thanks to challenge grants sponsored by Bigger Hammer Production Services, Sapsis Rigging and Strong Entertainment Lighting.

January 29, 2008 - Behind the Scenes Challenge Grants at USITT
The ESTA Foundation’s Behind the Scenes Program is pleased to announce that three companies have already stepped forward as challenge grantors for the Behind the Scenes / Long Reach Long Riders raffle at USITT in Houston: Bigger Hammer Production Services, Sapsis Rigging and Strong Entertainment Lighting. The grants provide the opportunity for donors to double their contributions, while providing help to colleagues in a time of need.

January 28, 2008 - ETC behind the scenes of Successful Challenge Grant
Middleton, WI (28 January 2008) – In October, ETC CEO Fred Foster issued a challenge to companies and individuals working in the entertainment industry: Donate to The ESTA Foundation’s Behind the Scenes fund, a program that provides financial assistance to entertainment technology professionals who are seriously ill or injured. ETC offered to match all donations to Behind the Scenes up to $50,000.

December 6, 2007 - Behind the Scenes Holiday Appeal to Meet the ETC $50,000 Challenge
This past October, The ESTA Foundation was pleased to announce that Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC) issued a $50,000 Challenge Grant to benefit Behind the Scenes. During the three days at LDI in November many of our colleagues answered the challenge by buying raffle tickets and holiday cards or playing poker, which helped us raise close to $40,000 – just $10,000 shy of ETC’s generous challenge.

October 18, 2007 - Electronic Theatre Controls Offers $50,000 Challenge Grant for Behind the Scenes

The ESTA Foundation is honored to announce a major challenge has been issued by Electronic Theatre Controls to the entertainment technology industry to step up to the plate at LDI for Behind the Scenes.

July 23, 2007 - Behind the Scenes to Raffle the Broadway Chopper at LDI
NEW YORK, NY — Thanks to the generosity of Neil Mazzella and Hudson Scenic Studio, The ESTA Foundation will raffle the one of a kind “Broadway Chopper” to raise funds for Behind the Scenes at LDI 2007. This award-winning show bike will capture the attention of everyone that sees it cruise by.

June 26, 2007 - The Long Reach Long Riders Reach the 75% Mark

With little more than a month to go, the Long Reach Long Riders have raised
over $50,000.00.  The goal for this, their 4th annual ride, is to raise
$75,000.00 by the time the ride begins on July 29th.

May 21, 2007 - Live Design Honors and Short Reach Short Riders Benefit Behind the Scenes
New York, NY – The Live Design Honors, recognizing The Design Aesthetic of Hal Prince, took place on Tuesday, May 15th at the Kimmel Center at New York University in a gala evening that benefited Behind the Scenes. This event marked the 2nd annual Live Design Honors, in which the magazine pays tribute to a group of outstanding individuals and the collaborative spirit of the designers who work together to create memorable and innovative productions.

April 28, 2007 - Live Design Honors go to Hal Prince and his Design Collaborators
Director and Producer Harold Prince and his many design collaborators have been awarded the 2007 Live Design Honor. Live Design magazine will pay tribute to “The Design Aesthetic of Hal Prince,” at a special benefit evening for Behind The Scenes on Tuesday, May 15, at the Kimmel Center at New York University. April 16, 2007 - Behind the Scenes Tony Awards Party Set for June 10th
New York, NY – The second annual Behind the Scenes Tony Awards Party is set for Sunday, June 10th in New York City. Continuing a long-standing tradition, the shops that work on Broadway gather together for an evening of food and drink to cheer on their Tony-nominated shows. Last year over 125 professionals, a dazzling array of industry talent, had a fabulous evening while making sure their colleagues will be cared for in times of need.

April 6, 2007 - Total Structures Makes First Donation to Behind the Scenes
Total Structures, Inc., a manufacturer of industry standard truss, custom set and structures and a Columbus McKinnon hoist distributor has announced that it has made its first donation to The ESTA Foundation's Behind the Scenes Program.

March 23, 2007 - USITT Attendees Support Behind the Scenes in a Big Way
The Long Reach Long Riders and The ESTA Foundation are proud to announce the results of their joint raffle to benefit the Behind the Scenes program at the USITT conference in Phoenix, AZ.  Over $7,800.00 was raised during the three day conference. The raffle was held on Saturday in the exhibit hall.

February 15, 2007 - Two Behind the Scenes Challenge Grants for USITT Announced
February 15, 2007, New York, NY – The ESTA Foundation’s Behind the Scenes (www.estafoundation.org/bts.htm) announces the first two Challenge Grants during the USITT Annual Conference & Stage Expo. I. Weiss and Sapsis Rigging will both be sponsoring $5,000 challenge grants at the upcoming USITT Raffle, March 15 – 17 in Phoenix, Arizona. Thanks to both companies coming forward after the announcement of the Challenge Grant Program every dollar donated at this year’s USITT will triple in value.

February 9, 2007, New York, NY – The ESTA Foundation’s Behind The Scenes (www.estafoundation.org/bts.htm) announces The Challenge Grant Program, an opportunity for donors to see contributions double in value while providing help to peers in their time of need. Established challenge grant slots are currently available for the Behind the Scenes / Long Reach Long Riders 2007 USITT Raffle, March 15 – 17 in Phoenix, Arizona (six openings) and The Long Reach Long Riders 2007 New England Charity Ride, July 29 – August 6 (two openings).

NEW YORK, NY — Total Structures, Inc., a manufacturer of industry standard truss, custom set and structures, and a Columbus McKinnon hoist distributor, has announced a new initiative to benefit The ESTA Foundation's Behind the Scenes Program. Total Structures will donate $10 to Behind the Scenes for every Lodestar and Prostar Columbus McKinnon hoist they sell.

August 10, 2006 - Vincent Lighting Systems Launches First Behind the Scenes Giving Campaign
NEW YORK, NY — Vincent Lighting Systems' philosophy has always included giving back to the entertainment technology industry, often through many hours of volunteer service by Paul Vincent and his staff. Now Vincent Lighting has launched the first Behind the Scenes Workplace Giving Campaign to help industry members in need.

August 1, 2006 - Behind the Scenes Meets Altman Family Challenge Grant – Goal Set for Endowment
NEW YORK, NY — The Altman Family believes so strongly in Behind the Scenes that they issued a challenge to help launch the program. They would match every dollar raised in the first year, dollar for dollar, up to $125,000. The Entertainment Technology Industry answered that challenge in just eight months, with over $150,000 raised in donations and pledges

May 15, 2006 - Behind the Scenes Announces First Grant
NEW YORK, NY — The Board of Directors of The ESTA Foundation has just awarded the first Behind the Scenes grant to Christian Choi, an 18-year industry veteran lighting director and moving light programmer whose career was derailed by a back injury sustained on the job and two difficult surgeries. Christian has been out of work for almost two years, so instead of building his career, he has been depleting his resources, including his retirement savings. He knew that with physical therapy, he could get back to work, but he couldn’t find a way to pay for it. His career had gone from success and security to wondering how he would pay the next month's rent.

January 31, 2006 - Behind the Scenes Now Accepting Applications
NEW YORK, NY — Behind the Scenes, an initiative of the ESTA Foundation to provide industry members with financial support when they are seriously ill or injured, is now accepting applications for assistance. Behind the Scenes will provide qualified eligible individuals with grants that may be used for medical care, funeral expenses and living expenses such as rent, mortgage, utilities, food, clothing, transportation and childcare.

November 29, 2005 - Behind the Scenes Raises Almost $40,000 at LDI
NEW YORK, NY — The ESTA Foundation raised almost $40,000 for Behind the Scenes in raffle ticket sales and contributions at the recent LDI show, which includes a generous donation from Vivian and George Gill, owners of Stage Equipment & Lighting. Thanks to the Altman Family $125,000 Challenge Grant, the amount raised is doubled, as the Altman Family will match all pledges and funds raised in the first year – dollar for dollar – up to $125,000.

November 28, 2005 - Behind the Scenes Announces Holiday Gifts
NEW YORK, NY — Behind the Scenes, an initiative of the ESTA Foundation to provide industry members with financial support when they are seriously ill or injured, announced today that two well-known industry companies are making donations to the program as part of their holiday charitable giving.

November 11, 2005 - ESTA Foundation Launches Behind the Scenes with Raffle, Challenge Grant and $30,000 Kickoff Donation
NEW YORK, NY — The ESTA Foundation today formally launched Behind the Scenes, a major new initiative for the entertainment technology industry. Behind the Scenes will provide financial support to entertainment technology professionals when they are seriously ill or injured. The Foundation is raising money for the program from those in the industry — so together, we can take care of our own.

October 29, 2005 - Media Advisory - Behind the Scenes Launch at ETS-LDI
On Friday, November 11, 2005, immediately after the opening of the ETS-LDI trade show, the ESTA Foundation will unveil a Harley-Davidson Sportster XL 883 that will be raffled off at the end of the show. At the same time, the Foundation will formally announce Behind the Scenes, a major new initiative for the entertainment technology industry. Proceeds from the raffle will support Behind the Scenes.
